Thank you once again for your dedication toward the future of education at Purdue University." This contribution from AVID LLC supplements the number of users and licenses from Purdue Engineering's initial purchase of AVID ACS for their Aeronautics and Astronautics Department.
AVID ACS is a widely-used interdisciplinary aircraft synthesis program for application in the early design stages of an aircraft, and can be used in conceptual design studies of numerous vehicles, from small UAVs flying on other planets to supersonic STOVL fighters. "We're excited to offer our cutting edge technology to Purdue for use in training future generations of aircraft designers. AVID ACS offers users the opportunity to model and simulate performance of fixed wing craft with validated accuracy," said Sam Wilson, president of AVID LLC.
Purdue's College of Engineering is ranked 6th overall nationally, tied with Michigan. It's school of Aeronautical and Astronautics is ranked 6th as well. Building upon historical strengths in engineering and agriculture, the West Lafayette campus currently offers 7,400 courses in more than 500 undergraduate majors. In 2002-03, the University expended about $347.1 million in support of research, using funds received from the state and federal governments, industry, foundations, and individual donors; there are more than 400 research laboratories on the West Lafayette campus.
AVID LLC, with locations in Blacksburg and Yorktown, Virginia, specializes in aircraft design consulting and aircraft analysis and design software.
