AVID LLC Provides Corporate Support to the Virginia Tech College of Engineering

On February 7, 2006 AVID LLC announced the receipt, by the Virginia Tech College of Engineering, of a significant financial contribution to the continuing success of that department. In addition to Sam Wilson's instruction of the "V/STOL Aircraft Design and V/STOL Concepts Review" course last Fall semester, AVID LLC continues to pursue a firm partnership with Virginia Tech in the areas of research and education. "The alliance between AVID LLC and the University will assist us in the pursuit of our dual missions to provide outstanding education to our students and facilitate cutting edge research opportunities for our faculty.", said Richard C. Benson, Dean of Engineering. "The involvement of our many supporters - such as AVID LLC - is woven into the fabric of our past successes as well as our future plans and aspirations."

AVID provides aircraft design expertise and software support to U.S. Government agencies and aerospace companies, for both military and commercial sectors. Current projects emphasize design studies and design software for both small UAVs and manned aircraft.
