Virginia Tech Takes Second Place at Aerial Robotics Competition
AVID LLC was proud to help sponsor the Virginia Tech Autonomous Aerial Vehicle team, which recently competed in the 18th annual AUVSI International Aerial Robotics Competition at Ft. Benning. The Tech team finished in second place, taking home $17,700 in prize money. Additional information about the competition and this year's results can be found at the AUVSI website. Our sincere congratulations go out to the entire team on this achievement.

AVID LLC CVO Speaks at Electric Aircraft Symposium
Sam Wilson, AVID LLC's Chief Visionary Officer, recently spoke at the 2nd Annual Electric Aircraft Symposium in San Francisco, CA. The event was sponsored by the CAFE Foundation (Competitions in Aircraft Flight Efficiency) and featured an array of presentations on electric powered flight. AVID design Engineer Helps Lead Student Design Team to Top Honors
Andy Ko, an Aircraft Design Engineer with AVID, helped lead a team of Virginia Tech aerospace engineering students to first place honors in the 2008 NASA Aircraft Design Competition. Andy has served as an adjunct faculty member with Virginia Tech's Aerospace Engineering program, and was the advisor for Virginia Tech's six person team entry.
